Susan Higgs

MCP, RCC, CCC

I bring a diversity of life experience to my work with clients. Over the past 20 years, I have had to find a path through many difficult life transitions which has led me to a commitment to authenticity, self-compassion, and self-care.

Prior to embarking on a career path in counselling, I worked for over 15 years for a national financial institution providing growth and transition capital to Canadian entrepreneurs. As a working mother who returned to graduate school as an adult learner, I understand the challenges of balancing parenting, career, and a personal life. I also know firsthand the stresses faced by parents of children with chronic illnesses, as well as those who provide care for aging family members.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University and a Bachelor of Commerce with a Major in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management from the University of Victoria.

I also have experience volunteering in the community and working within school systems which has allowed me to work closely with nurses, teachers, principals, and support staff.
